The guidelines for responsible use of these tools are outlined in 学校董事会程序2022P.

We live in a global and digital world -- a world changed by technology and new ideas about how we communicate with one another and exchange information. 作为一个结果, 学生必须进行研究, 信息流畅, and technology skills that will allow them to be successful, 安全, 在这个数字世界里也是道德的. 因为这个原因, students are provided computer access privileges at school, 也能上网, 电子邮件, digital communication and collaboration tools, 在线学习的空间, 以及电子教育资源. Standard applications and accounts that are configured for student use include (but are not limited to):

  • 活动目录: Each student is given an account in 活动目录 that they will use to log on to any district-owned computer within the district network and provide them with access to a cloud-based folder where their important documents and projects can be stored.  These credentials are also used to access our Library Catalog, 谷歌教育环境应用程序, 及网上职系入门网站.
  • 云顶’s Google Apps for Education Environment: 这 education-focused Google Apps environment is hosted by Google, and managed by the District.  这 collection of online applications provides students with a Google 电子邮件 account, 日历, 并访问GoogleDrive, 学生可以在这里创作, 分享, 和发布文件, 电子表格, 演讲, 以及他们学习的其他产物. The District creates and manages user accounts; manages access to applications and 电子邮件 based on grade level organizations; and manages permissions. 例如, 电子邮件 accounts the District creates for elementary students can only communicate with other 电子邮件 accounts created by the District. (Note that Google Apps for Education (GAFE) accounts are covered by more restrictive data privacy practices than “regular” Google accounts, including a restriction on advertising and the use of student data for advertising purposes.   • 在线课程系统: Most of the curriculum adopted in the District is accompanied by or depends on access to an online system where content and assessments are stored.  Many of these systems require students to have a unique account created for them which allows them to access supplemental video content, 做一些小测试, and strengthen their understanding about the ideas in a content area.  For District-wide curriculum, the District creates and manages these accounts.  在这些情况下, the terms of use and privacy policies are reviewed thoroughly before providing any student account data to the vendor.

根据联邦 Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), the District is required to filter Internet access and to teach online 安全ty.  The District takes your student’s 安全ty and privacy very seriously and makes every effort to supervise and monitor student technology use.  We use Internet filtering software to block access to content that is obscene, 色情, 或对未成年人有害. We provide instruction to all students in the area of 数字公民 through use of District-approved curriculum from Common Sense Media.

技术选择退出

考虑到所有这些因素, Parents or guardians have the right to terminate their student’s access to electronic tools and resources by signing the 地区科技选择退出表格.

If you do not want your student to use District technology resources, please be aware that your decision to eliminate access to these tools may significantly affect your student’s ability to work collaboratively with their peers on class assignments and projects, and may impact the development of skills necessary to live and work in this increasingly digital world.

Only complete the form if you choose for your student NOT to use District Technology.  Return the signed form to your school and schedule an appointment to discuss this with your principal or designated school administrator.  在与管理员会面后, the opt-out request will remain in effect for one school year, 并在学年结束时到期. To keep this Opt-Out in effect, you must complete a new form every school year.
